“Personal Information” means information that alone or when in combination with other information may be used to readily identify, contact, or locate you, such as: name, address, email address, or phone number, which has not been previously or subsequently disclosed by you on the public areas of the MSS Services or in messages you send to Makeshift Society mailing lists or message boards. We do not consider Personal Information to include information that has been anonymized so that it does not allow a third party to easily identify a specific individual.
We collect Personal Information when you:
We automatically track certain basic information about our user (such as internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, click patterns, etc.). We use this information to do internal research on our users’ usage patterns, demographics, interests and general behavior to best understand and serve MSS members. We collect this information and usage statistics by using cookies, server logs, and other similar technology as you use the MSS Services. For our account holders’ convenience, we use "cookies" to allow you to enter your password less frequently during a session and to provide for an easier Membership registration process. If you configure your browser or otherwise choose to reject the cookies, you will still be able to use our site, but your user experience on our website and the MSS Services may be diminished, and some features of our site may not be available to you unless you have cookies enabled. See “Cookies, Automatic Data Collection, and Other Tracking Technologies” below.
Creating an Account. To create an account, you will need to provide Personal Information, such as your name, email address, billing address and credit card information. You may also choose to provide other optional information.
Use of Information. Makeshift Society may collect the Personal Information you post as you use the MSS Services, such as your application for a Membership, your posts to a mailing list or message board, or the fact that you have registered for a Class or reserved Rental Amenities. You should not post your sensitive or Personal Information in areas of the MSS Services that are public. We may also collect information from you that you share with us in person, such as signing up for a mailing list in person at our co-working facilities.
Information Provided by Third Parties for Classes. We may use third parties to perform certain tasks for us relating to your registration in a Class. These third parties may provide us the Personal Information, such as your name, address, and email address, you provide to them so that we are able to include your information in Class rosters.
Customer Support and Services. We may collect Personal Information through your communications with the Makeshift Society customer support and services teams, as well as our marketing teams when you sign up for our online newsletter.
Payment Processing. You will need to provide Personal Information, such as your credit card number and billing address, to our third-party service providers and payment processors when you make payments to pay for a Membership, Class, Rental Amenity or other charge.
Cookies, Automatic Data Collection, and Other Tracking Technologies. The MSS Services collect and store certain information that is automatically generated as you use the MSS Services, including anonymous usage statistics and your preferences. We may use your IP address to determine your physical location when you log in from your computer or mobile device so that we can personalize the MSS Services for you. You may change certain preference and location settings in your account settings.
When visiting the MSS Services, we and/or our third-party service providers receive and record certain of your information on our server logs, including your IP address, and from cookies, web beacons and other tracking technology. A "cookie" is a piece of data stored on your computer that is tied to information about you. Web beacons are small pieces of code placed on web pages that can be used, among other things, to count the users who visit that web page, or to deliver a cookie to the browser of a user viewing that page. Our website may also use Flash cookies that are similar to regular browser cookies. You can control browser cookies through your browser's settings. You can control Flash cookies via the Macromedia Flash application on your computer, or by going to the Macromedia Flash Player website, which allows you to view, modify, and delete Flash cookies. You may delete cookies or set your browser to alert you when cookies are being sent. However, if you do that, portions of the MSS Services may not work as intended, or at all, and your user experience of the MSS Services may be diminished.
We use Personal Information to:

In the event that Makeshift Society is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, sale of company assets, or transition of service to a third party provider, your information may be sold or transferred as a result of such a transaction as permitted by law and/or contract. We cannot control how such entities may use or disclose such information.
In addition, we may disclosure your Personal Information with your permission to do so.
By using the MSS Services or providing Personal Information to us, you agree that we may communicate electronically with you in connection with security, privacy, and administrative issues relating to your use of the MSS Services. If we are made aware of a breach in our security systems, we may attempt to notify you electronically either by posting a notice on the MSS Services or by sending you an email, or both. In addition, you may have a legal right to receive notice of a security breach in writing. To receive free written notice of a security breach (or to withdraw your consent from receiving electronic notices), please notify us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
